Hydraulic Cylinder tubes – Ready to use, for Skiving and Roller Burnishing

What are Hydraulic Systems?

There are two types of systems – Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems.

Both of the systems branch out from engineering field which make use of either gas/pressurized air and fluids to run on.

The Hydraulic Systems circulate the same amount of fluid repetitively from a fixed basin which is part of the prime mover. The fluid is a non-compressible liquid, so the actuators it drives can be controlled to very accurate positions, speeds, or pressures. Most hydraulic systems include and work on mineral oil for the operating machine but other liquids such as water, ethylene glycol, or synthetic types are totally common.

Hydraulic systems usually have a certain power unit for each and every machine. The rubber-molding plants advance from this scheme. They usually have a fundamental power unit with pipes running to and from the presses out in the system. These presses require no flow during their long closing times, which is why a single large pump can operate many of them. These hydraulic systems function more like a compressed-air fixing because the power source is at one location.

What are Hydraulic Cylinder Tubes?

The cylindrical tubes that allow hydraulics in machines or in any application are hydraulic cylinder tubes.

How are they produced?

  • Seamless Manufacturing Process: The process used to produce flawless and spotless tubes and pipes is known as seamless manufacturing processes. They are considered the strongest pipes amongst all other pipe types for the features it has like homogeneous structure throughout the pipe length. Various manufacturing processes are:
  • Mandrel Mill Process
  • Mannesmann Plug Mill Pipe Manufacturing Process
  • Forged Seamless Pipe Manufacturing Process
  • Extrusion Processes

  • Welding Manufacturing Process: The process used to join the ends a sheet to make a cylindrical pipe is called as a welding manufacturing process. They are considered the most useful tubes for home applications, etc. Today, the technology has advanced and the Welding mills, as well as manual welding, have almost invisible seams. Various manufacturing processes are:
  • ERW- Electric Resistance Welding
  • EFW- Electric Fusion Welding
  • HFW- High-frequency welding
  • SAW- Submerged Arc Welding

Skiving and Roller Burnishing

  1. Skiving: Skiving is a process which is involved in the last stage of the tube manufacturing process. It is used instead of rolling burnishing to cut the tube at the desired point to obtain certain length and give a finishing touch. Skiving means – to slice. The advanced machines and mills move the pipe forward towards to slotting tools to in certain manner to get end result – homogeneity throughout the pipe.
  2. Roller Burnishing: Roller Burnishing is another type of surface finishing process where the hardened rollers work on rough surfaces. In this process, the material is displaced rather than removed. The tool used for burnishing rolls against the surface of the material at a constant speed. It produces a very consistent finish across the part.

Advantages of Hydraulic Cylinder Tubes:

A few other manufacturers are setting up central power units when the plant has numerous machines that use hydraulics. Some advantages of this arrangement are greatly reduced noise levels at the machine, the availability of backup pumps to take over if a working pump fails less total horsepower and flow, and increased uptime of all machines.

Other advantages that hydraulic-powered machines have over pneumatic ones are that they function at higher pressure – typically 1500 to 2500 psi. Higher pressures produce high force from smaller actuators, which means less clutter in the work area.

Ready to use

The pneumatic and hydraulic systems and tubes are used in multiple industries like dentistry, machinery production factories, automobiles, aerospace industry, construction, mining, and other areas.
