First in the Precision Steel Tube Industry to Adapt Cold Pilgering Technology. Capacity: 1200 MT - 42 Cold Pilgers ranging from 9.53 mm to 120 OD and 1.5 to 6.5 mm Wall Thickness.

Cold Pilgering Technology is widely used by Seamless Tube Industry for manufacturing tubes in Alloy Steel (4130), Bearing Steel (52100) and Stainless Steel (304,316).

The cold pilgering process uses ring dies and a tapered mandrel to reduce tube cross sections by up to 80%. Because the process relies on large number of small forming steps, the result is tube or pipe that has nearly homogenous material characteristics. It is suitable for every metal.

  • Can take higher Cross Sectional Area Reduction up to 80% as against the conventional Cold Drawing which engages 30 – 35% CSA Reduction.
  • Input tube size such as 45 mm OD x 6 mm thickness can be reduced to 20 mm OD x 5 mm thickness in one go enabling us to manufacture very low Diameter/Thickness tubing (up to 4) and thereby enabling VA/VE initiatives such as bar to tube replacement.
  • Superior surface finish (Ra 0.6 micron max) and close dimensional tolerance (0.10 mm).
  • The Stress developed due to work hardening is drastically reduced as compared to conventional Drawing Process due to deformation getting effected in longitudinal as well as in circumferential direction. This phenomena helps in retaining good ductility of material even after cold working / work hardening.
