methods.One of the advanced NDT technique at META Engitech is the Offline
Ultrasonic Technique that involves using high frequency sound waves between
1-25 MHz to detect internal defects and to measure wall thickness of the
tubes.This testing can detect longitudinal defects in weld, Transverse
defects,Lamination and other discontinuities in the weld and Parent material.
Offline Ultrasonic
testing system consist of Probe clusters with Multiple angular positioned probes
mounted on a Gantry head.The Gantry head with probes travels on tube with
helical rotation and ensures 100% coverage of tube surface for detection.
This is an
advanced testing system with multiple probes and channels for complete coverage
of tube surface and enhanced sensitivity for defect detection.The defect tubes
are marked with orientation and location by different color and automatically
sorted for Good and Bad tubes.
The Ultrasonic test
system has an advanced digital data acquisition and reporting for analysis to implement process corrections and
future reference.
